โGreenwich is known as a premier shopping destination and attracts both local and out-of-state shoppers making it an ideal location to introduce many first-timers to The RealReal,โ says The RealReal Greenwichโs head of shop, Tori Cornish, of the popular consignment websiteโs newest brick-and-mortar outpost in Greenwich.
Not only does the location offer opportunities to both consign and shop for high-end luxury items (think: Cartier, Chanel), but it also provides a sustainable shopping alternative. โThe RealReal was founded with the goal of extending the life of luxury goods so weโve had sustainability
at our core from day one,โ explains Cornish. โWeโve been a champion of the circular economy for the past decade, and are continuing to expand our commitment to extending the life of luxury, from introducing repair services at all of our stores to launching our new ReCollection program focused on upcycling.โ (Fun fact: 827 million liters of water have been saved by consignment on The RealReal.)
If youโre in the market to consign, Cornish says that lux handbags from Hermรจs, Gucci and Louis Vuitton are always big sellers. โParticularly, styles like the Hermรจs Birkin, Gucci Marmont Matelassรฉ, and Louis Vuitton Eva Pochette are currently in high demand and have strong resale values making them perfect to sell, especially if theyโre collecting dust in your closet,โ she says. Rolex watches, tooโtheir best-selling watch brand last year.
And at the Greenwich store, Cornish says, โOur expert team is a huge part of what makes The RealReal Greenwich unique and adds value for our shoppers and consignors. Weโre able to connect our community directly with our experts for consignment drop-offs, bespoke alterations and repairs, and complimentary one-on- one valuations for handbags, fine jewelry, and watches. Our experts are there to be a resource and offer guidance to our customers every step of the resale journey.โ
