Manhattan Cocktail

Invented in the late 1800s and imbibed by socialites of the time, the Manhattan quickly went on to become the most famous drink in the world. Considered the first modern cocktail for its combination of American whiskey, Italian vermouth, and a few dashes of aromatic bitters, its balanced and complex taste is still timeless today. Like anything with just a handful of ingredients, quality counts, as does technique—stirred, not shaken, perfectly chilled, and served in a coupe with a premium preserved cherry. – Yasmin Newman
