6th Annual Dragon Boat Race Festival

Slim, colorful boats decorated with carved dragon’s heads will fill the Port Jefferson village harbor on September 14 for its 6th Annual Dragon Boat Race Festival. Local and regional teams of all skill levels will come together to compete against each other in a series of heats, carrying on a dragon-boat racing tradition that originated in China more than 2,500 years ago. Take along chair or blanket to enjoy the festivities; food vendors and music will keep things lively throughout the day. 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 pm.
