Children of the Sea

05/19/2019 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Free
A baby seal with its mother on the rocks

For a truly “aww”-inspiring educational outing, visit the American Museum of Natural History on Sunday, May 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. That’s when the museum will host “Ocean Babies,” an event exploring the parent-child relationship between a wide range of aquatic creatures. You’ll learn how seahorses emerge from their fathers’ pouches, catfish emperor penguins carefully balance eggs on their feet, and other methods used to keep the youngest ocean animals healthy and safe until adulthood. Along the way you’ll interact with scientists and discover incredible critters.
