JDRF of Westchester/Fairfield Gala Raised More Than $500,000 for Type 1 Diabetes Research

Dinner, dancing, a Kentucky Derby viewing and a chance to win tickets to Hamilton, Broadway’s hottest show, drew nearly 300 guests to the JDRF Westchester/Fairfield Gala on May 7. The evening raised more than $500,000 and honored Scarsdale, NY, residents Jeremy and Lisa Gans for their commitment to JDRF, which focuses on type 1 diabetes research. The ballroom at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich, CT, was decked with blue and white (JDRF’s signature colors) and bouquets of fresh spring flowers. After enjoying a formal three-course meal, guests got to sample a make-your-own-sundae bar. Anastasia and Delilah Brien of Greenwich, CT, a mother and daughter who both have with type 1 diabetes, inspired guests with their story and led the live JDRF Fund-A-Cure auction, which offered prizes like a Kiawah Island Golf Vacation and reservations to the exclusive New York City restaurant, Rao’s, plus those coveted Hamilton seats.
