American Red Cross Metro New York North Chapter’s Red & White Ball

The American Red Cross Metro New York North Chapter hosted its annual Red & White Ball: A Salute to Service and Valor at Riverside Yacht Club on April 23, 2022. Chrissy Magliocco von Oiste and Lauren E. Walsh led a group of more than 30 philanthropists and community leaders to create an inspiring evening that raised over $1 million to support the Red Cross mission to prepare for, respond to, and help people affected by disasters like hurricanes, fires, and countless other crises. This SOLD-OUT event brought together nearly 500 guests who enjoyed fine wine and food, music and dancing, and outstanding live and silent auctions, which showcased one-of-a-kind items and experiences. 

The evening began with the presentation of the colors by the Greenwich Police Department Honor Guard and the singing of the National Anthem performed by US Army Sergeant Major MaryKay Messenger of the West Point Band. Author, educator and activist Ilyasah Shabazz welcomed guests with inspiring words of humanity. Stephanie Dunn Ashley, CEO of the American Red Cross Metro New York North Chapter joined Jill Coyle, chair of the Board of Directors of the Red Cross Metro New York North Chapter to recount the work of the organization over the past two years.

The honorees for the evening were: 

20th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark A. Milley and Mrs. Hollyanne Milley who received the Exceptional Service Award in recognition of their lifetime of service to our nation. 

Colleen and Philip Hempleman of Greenwich who received the 2022 Humanitarian Award in recognition of their long and distinguished history of philanthropic leadership.

Carlson & Carlson Incorporated, a Greenwich based company, who received the 2022 Corporate Leadership Award for their commitment to volunteerism and their generous financial support for local non-profits.
