Chef Carlos Baez, the chef behind The Spread in South Norwalk, just opened a new location in Greenwich on West Putnam Avenue, while celebrating five years in his first location. Fans of the farm-to-table SoNo spot will love the dishes that will migrate along with Chef Baez to the second locale, like the Veal and Ricotta Meatballs and the Brick Chicken, dishes Baez and his co-owners refer to as “refined world food.” The Greenwich location, housed in the old Barcelona space, features reclaimed wood and perforated metals, with a massive 70 foot bar and open kitchen. A caviar program will be a unique feature for Greenwich diners. Both locations will give back to local causes as the SoNo one has done for years; favorite efforts on the part of The Spread team include protecting animals, helping kids, feeding the hungry and preserving the environment.
