A Sweet Treat from Biscoche

biscoche

โ€œWe find that there are four general types of people: purists, fruit and nut lovers, chocolate fans and those with a very sweet tooth. With our six signature flavors, thereโ€™s something for everyone,โ€ says Marissa Gurdian, founder of Biscoche macaroons, a web-based company that creates treats in a Kosher Westchester bakery.

โ€œThe inspiration was a beloved family recipe for chocolate chip macaroons,โ€ she says. โ€œWe wanted to develop other flavors and make them available as a gift item to delight coconut lovers worldwide.โ€ Along with cocoa (chocolate chip)โ€”the most popular, says Gurdianโ€”there are five other Kosher, egg- and gluten-free flavors: classic (coconut), dulce (caramel), tropico (mango), garmone (pistachio) and rosso (tart cherry).

biscocheBut theyโ€™re not just aiming to satisfy that sweet tooth: The company is committed to giving back, so through a partnership with the Food Bank for New York City, a meal is donated for every box they sell. โ€œGiving back was key to our mission because New York is such a place of both scarcity and abundance,โ€ says Gurdian. The treats are sold exclusively onlineโ€”and ship free in just two daysโ€”but if youโ€™re in NYC or Scarsdale, NY, they also offer a courier delivery service.
