Clarity Home Interiors is a full-service design firm with a passion for residential design and a commitment to innovation, style and customer service. We talked to Interior Designer and Owner Amy Zolin about the firm’s ability to approach each project with a fresh eye and incredible resources.
The kitchen is often called the hub of the house. Tell us about a favorite recent kitchen project. This large kitchen has two islands, a separate pantry, a formal china cupboard and wet bar area, a 60-inch Wolf cooktop and range, a second wet bar underneath a new window, multiple refrigerators and seating for 16. The family uses it for entertaining family and friends so we wanted to create a space that is happy and livable.
What are some of your favorite features of the project? I love the vibrant blues that pop in this almost all-white kitchen. We custom designed the hood to connect the stainless-steel appliances and the brass hardware. I wanted it to float on the wall while also anchoring the large range. Stone is still important in the kitchen, so we added a custom mosaic in a hand-cut chevron pattern to create a feature wall.
What are your favorite kitchen design trends for 2019? Brass is here to stay and is being offered in many tones in hardware, appliances and tile. At a recent trade show I attended in Las Vegas, NV, color was everywhere, especially in appliances and cabinetry. Emerald green, all shades of blue and touches of pinks, orange and corals were highlighted. Black and white combinations will be strong. Faucets are clean and modern but finishes range from matte black, painted colors and brass to the classic nickel and chrome. While we are not there completely, connectivity is being offered from more appliances.
