A perfect contrast
This Larchmont, NY, kitchen designed by Studio Dearborn mixes bold blue with bright white for a stunning contrast. Highlights include cabinetry painted in Benjamin Moore’s Van Deusen Blue, a wall of white subway tiles and an island countertop of pure white pental quartz. The pendant lights are from Rejuvenation and the barstools are from Soho Concept. Dark oak floors ground the design scheme.

Fun With Patterns
D2 Interieurs created this lively kitchen for a young couple with two sons in Old Greenwich, CT. Blue geometric wallpaper, from Porter’s Paint, infuses color and character into the space. Barstools at the island are upholstered in a dark blue Osborne & Little ultrasuede fabric. A Saarinen tulip table, white leather chairs and a custom-designed aqua blue light fixture add modern touches to the breakfast area.

A Family-Friendly Look
This spacious kitchen and adjacent butler’s pantry in Manhasset, NY, was created for a family of seven by Deane, Inc., with the help of James Schettino Architects, Lynn Morgan Design and McNulty Construction. The predominantly white kitchen is accented with blue seating at the island and dining table, which matches the high-gloss, custom navy blue paint used in the butler’s pantry. The pantry also features burnished stainless steel countertops with Cartier-style rivets and a mercury glass backsplash

Color in the Country
Claudia Kalur of CFK Interiors designed this kitchen in Washington, CT, with David Hottenroth of Hottenroth & Joseph Architects for an NYC family’s country retreat. Her clients wanted an English country-style kitchen that still felt clean and modern, and knew before the kitchen was built that the cabinetry would be blue. The color they settled on was Benjamin Moore’s Washington Blue, appropriately titled the same as the town. Countertops and backsplash are made from Carrara marble, and the island countertop is butcher block. Unlacquered brass faucets, hardware and pendant light fixtures complete the look.

Custom Blue
Architect John B. Murray and interior designer Tammy Connor
transformed this Central Park South kitchen, which adjoins the family room. A specially blended blue lacquer paint brings warmth to the room and matches a custom-designed French range and hood. Other highlights include Calacatta Gold marble and a recessed ceiling over the island that maximizes height.

Blue Luxury
The focal point of this Armonk, NY, kitchen is the show-stopping powder blue stove and hood by BlueStar that set the color scheme for the room. Painted walls, faux leather upholstery, rugs and accessories were all selected to match, creating a truly chic and feminine aesthetic. Cerused wood in a light finish was used for the custom cabinetry and the cleverly hidden built-in refrigerator.
