After working under some of the best chefs in New York City—including Bobby Flay at Mesa Grill, Tom Colicchio at Gramercy Tavern and Union Square Café with Danny Meyer—Chef Rui Correia began opening his own eateries, including the popular Douro Restaurant on Greenwich Avenue. Along the way, the Portuguese native has gained national recognition from media coverage, including repeated guest appearances on NBC’s Today Show. Coveted spots on his annual foodie tours through Portugal’s restaurants and vineyards sell out almost immediately. Recently, he launched Gaia Restaurant, also in Greenwich, cementing his position as a true ambassador for Portuguese wines, food, culture and travel.
