Put these soothing and cleansing clay and honey facial masks ($19 each) from Little Bee of Connecticut on the top of your self-care to-do list this year. Co-Founder Krista Priore and her daughter came up with the idea of these versatile masks when they were looking for fun ways to treat themselves while in quarantine. “We brainstormed about how the materials could be customized to address individual needs and improve results,” says Priore.
After several months of testing their locally made, honey-inspired products personally on their very different skin types, the two finalized three combinations to meet everyone’s needs: French Green Clay & Honey, effective on oily or acne prone skin; Moroccan Red Clay & Honey, well-suited for combination skin; and New Zealand Glacial Clay & Honey, for skin that is sensitive or aging. “The clays are effective at oil and impurity absorption while the honey provides antimicrobial properties. Honey is also a natural humectant, it draws moisture to the skin. After using the masks, the results are clean, smooth skin without being too dry,” says Priore. Each container has enough for five individual face masks; all of Little Bee of Connecticut’s products are handmade in small batches.
