Mike Pietrafeso was born and raised in Greenwich, CT where he currently lives with his wife of 10 years and three young daughters. Mike’s mother and grandparents immigrated from a small farm village in Italy in the early 1960s. Mike grew up surrounded by food and family and his grandma (Nonnie) inspired him to be a chef at a very early age. His fondest memories are spending every Sunday at his grandparents, helping his grandma prepare a home cooked meal from ingredients from her garden.

Mike has worked in the local food service industry since he was 14. A graduate of the French Culinary Institute (2006), he has gained over 15 years of restaurant and catering experience at Plum Pure Foods in Greenwich, CT, Napa & Co. and Bar Rosso in Stamford, CT, Le Farm in Westport, CT, private residences in Fairfield County and as operations manager for multiple Garden Catering locations. Mike is a unique combination of Chef and Operator, bringing together his creative side and passion for food with his keen business sense, managerial skills and cost management expertise.
Mike’s local eateries, Ada’s Kitchen + Coffee and the new Roost Darien (opened in January 2018), are a perfect marrying of his experience. As covered in the press, Mike’s concept of scratch made, delicious food, delivered fast, has been a hit in Riverside and now in Darien. Ada’s has won the Best of the Gold Coast’s ‘Best Breakfast and Coffee Shop’ in Greenwich for two year’s running.
He is happy to be back at the Greenwich Wine + Food Festival again this year as an Ambassador Chef and to continuing to share his food with the community.
