On June 4, the New York Botanical Garden kicks off its newest exhibition, โ€œAround the Table: Stories of the Foods We Loveโ€, with a variety of installations and events. โ€œFields of wheat and abundantly grown vegetables will illuminate the botanical origins of the worldโ€™s most important staple foods, from rice and beans to peppers and greens, while art installations will bring to life the stories of community and resilience these plants tell,โ€ says Joanna Groarke, interim head of exhibitions. โ€œThe exhibition seeks to spark a deeper understanding of where our food comes from, where itโ€™s been, and provide insight into the environmental and social impacts of our food choices.โ€
