On June 4, the New York Botanical Garden kicks off its newest exhibition, โAround the Table: Stories of the Foods We Loveโ, with a variety of installations and events. โFields of wheat and abundantly grown vegetables will illuminate the botanical origins of the worldโs most important staple foods, from rice and beans to peppers and greens, while art installations will bring to life the stories of community and resilience these plants tell,โ says Joanna Groarke, interim head of exhibitions. โThe exhibition seeks to spark a deeper understanding of where our food comes from, where itโs been, and provide insight into the environmental and social impacts of our food choices.โ
