On June 4, the New York Botanical Garden kicks off its newest exhibition, “Around the Table: Stories of the Foods We Love”, with a variety of installations and events. “Fields of wheat and abundantly grown vegetables will illuminate the botanical origins of the world’s most important staple foods, from rice and beans to peppers and greens, while art installations will bring to life the stories of community and resilience these plants tell,” says Joanna Groarke, interim head of exhibitions. “The exhibition seeks to spark a deeper understanding of where our food comes from, where it’s been, and provide insight into the environmental and social impacts of our food choices.”
