Personal stylist Lily Perry and her business partner, organizer extraordinaire Sarah Baldwin, recently put their talents together to launch Faire Évoluer, an endeavor to help busy women (like themselves) feel good about what they’re wearing despite running to and from school, music class, the gym and the office. Here are three tips to help you get organized and get out of the yoga pant rut:
1. Make a Look Book: “A pulled together look can be easy to achieve if you know what to grab ahead of time,” says Lily. She creates “look books” for her Faire Évoluer clients to keep in their closets as a quick reference tool. “We go through the clothes you own and pull together great outfits from what you already have and fill in with new pieces where there are holes,” she says.
2. Edit Edit Edit: “Most people only wear 20% of their clothes,” Lily says. “You should be able to see and grab what you intend to wear quickly and with confidence!”
3. Make it Easy: Sarah says having an easy-to-use and easy-to-maintain closet organization system is key. She suggests working with a professional organizer who will make choices that fit your daily routines and your ability/desire to maintain a system yourself, especially through laundry and dry cleaning cycles.
If the thought of tackling your closet is still overwhelming, consider hiring someone to help you get started. Faire Évoluer can help you edit your current wardrobe, buy new outfits that fit your lifestyle and personality, and get it all organized. Lily’s personal styling services include a day of fun-filled and productive shopping at stores from Zara to Saks or Barneys, as well as in-home shopping services for those who don’t have time to shop. (For a limited time, Lily and Sarah are offering 20% off new clients’ first Faire Évoluer service to Serendipity readers.)
“As the compliments roll in,” Lily says, ” you will be amazed by how much better you feel overall when you look your best!”
