Hair Trends for Spring

Whether the winter did a number on your hair or you’re just looking to change things up, the husband-and-wife team Elie and Danielle Camoro, who opened their new salon, Camoro at the Delamar, at the Delamar Southport hotel, last fall, offer their advice.

“I’ve been doing more bolder cuts, ranging from chin length to past the shoulders,” says Elie, who previously served as creative director of Frederic Fekkai. Curtain bangs are also popular right now. “They are statement pieces, and when you have the right features for them, they give off a more hip, youthful vibe—who doesn’t want that?”

As far as color goes, “I personally think you can go lighter all year,” says Danielle, a protégé of famed colorist Marie Robinson. “Highlights never need to be overdone and can always look polished and put together, no matter what month we’re in. Come spring, I usually like to go over a few of the old highlights that dulled during winter and bring them back to life while also adding a few new brighter pieces.”
