Nothing beats strolling an outdoor market and the Greenwich Historical Society Tavern Garden Market, held every other Wednesday on their grounds in Cos Cob, CT, is a great choice. Started in the summer of 2020 with just six vendors, it has grown to more than 15 vendors, offering everything from local produce, flowers and baked goods to gifts and crafts, says Daniel Suozzo, special events manager at the Greenwich Historical Society.
“The name is derived from the small garden adjacent to Toby’s Tavern, historically a working tavern that catered to the American Impressionist artists and other travelers that stayed at the Holley Boarding house, which is now home to the newly expanded Greenwich Historical Society lobby, Artists Café and Museum Store,” he explains. You can also visit the store, stroll the gardens, or take a tour of the Bush-Holley House and galleries.
