Located in a national park, Lizard Island is accessible via private charter, keeping its 2,500 acres pristine for divers exploring the Great Barrier Reef. The island is home to a research station (that visitors can tour) and miles of nature trails from which hikers can spot spinner dolphins, humpback whales and sea turtles in the water below. Salt Water Restaurant serves modern Australian fare like roasted lamb loin, and guests may also opt for the seven-course degustation menu served during a private dinner on the beach.
