The Connecticut Westchester Hudson Valley (CTWHV) chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), 2019 Man & Woman of the Year, celebrated the kick-off on April 4 for the ten-week campaign at the Doubletree Hilton, Tarrytown, NY.

The Man & Woman of the Year is a national ten-week fundraising campaign, conducted through individual chapters, to help raise funds to find cures for blood cancers.  The campaign includes individuals in the community (and the teams they develop) who agree to utilize their leadership abilities and resources to conduct their own fundraising campaigns to support the LLS mission:  Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

The CTWHV chapter’s campaign runs from April 4 and concludes June 13, with the Grand Finale taking place at the Hyatt Regency, Greenwich, CT.  At this time, with 350 guests in attendance, the man and woman who have raised the most funds will be awarded the title Man and Woman of the Year, respectively.

Each year the campaign honors a Boy of the Year and Girl of the Year. This year, survivors Charlie Levine, 14 years old, Nyack, NY, and Lynn Willow Gulli, 9 years old, Greenwich, CT, are our Boy and Girl of the Year.

This year’s candidates are:
Micaela Keane – Vice President, USI Insurance Services

Jackie Essex  – Nurse Greenwich Hospital
Ryan Rafter – Managing Director, Hilco Real Estate
