Clay Art Center held its biennial Spring Fest fundraising event on June 3, 2017. Family activities included tile painting, hands-on clay sculpting, face painting and everyone had the opportunity to try the potter’s wheel. Clay artists from all over the tristate area donated their artwork for the pottery sale with hundreds of one-of-a-kind pieces available at reduced prices. Along with an exciting raffle for two potter’s wheels, there was also our first online auction of ceramic works by emerging and established artists. Hundreds of people came to shop the bargains, participate in the hands-on activities, tour the artist studios and just have fun with other community members. “It was a fun and successful day with 100% of revenues supporting Clay Art Center’s mission, which is to offer a stimulating space for studio practice, exhibition and educational opportunities to better serve the community,” says Executive Director, Leigh Taylor Mickelson.  “This event was the big success it was because of our many enthusiastic volunteers. Believing strongly that the arts has the ability to touch and enrich lives, Clay Art Center’s mission is to offer a stimulating space for studio practice, exhibition and educational opportunities to better serve the community.
