Fighting Diabetes with Fashion

The Catwalk 7, the annual Catwalk Fashion Show to support JDRF research, was held March 7, 2017 at The Loading Dock in Stamford, CT and was attended by 250 people. The luncheon featured a cocktail reception, professional fashion show, as well as a pop-up shop by Darien Sport Shop. The grand prize raffle was a diamond necklace from D’Errico Jewelry of Scarsdale, NY. The tables and décor were designed in “Greenery,” a play on Pantone’s Color of the Year. Tables arrangements included 600 daffodils from The Gardener’s Center and Florist of Darien, CT, and vases glittered under green and blue lighting. Co-chairs Anastasia Brien of Greenwich, CT, and Jennifer Fitzpatrick of Darien, CT, welcomed the crowd and Darien Sport Shop President Gina Zangrillo kicked off the fashion show. Professional models walked the runway, along with youth models affected by type 1 diabetes.
