This year’s Food For All event, presented by Food Rescue US, was held on April 24 at the Loading Dock in Stamford. More than 300 people were in attendance. Fourteen generous local restaurants contributed delicious food to go along with a selection of donated beverages for a fabulous tasting event. Food Rescue US is a  CT-based, technology-fueled, direct transfer food rescue organization dedicated to ending food insecurity in America. Funds raised through Food For All will allow Food Rescue US to rescue more than 87,000 pounds of food that would otherwise be wasted from ending up in landfills with its negative impact on our environment and delivering more than 72,000 meals to individuals experiencing food insecurity. On an annual basis, Food Rescue rescues more than 9.6 million pounds from being wasted and delivers 8 million meals to the food insecure. Currently, Food Rescue US operates in 20 locations in 12 states and the District of Columbia with a goal to be in all fifty states over the next 3-5 years.

Food Rescue US was founded in Norwalk in 2011 as the simple and smart solution to food insecurity and food waste.  Using a proprietary app, the platform connects food donors with agencies that feed the food insecure using volunteer food rescuers who deliver the food from point A to point B.    For more information and to download the app to become a food rescuer, please go to www.foodrescue.us
