Greenwich Old Timers Athletic Association Hosts Annual Tournament

gotaa golf

The Greenwich Old Timers Athletic Association held their annual Golf Tournament at the Fairview Country Club. There were putting contests, a hole-in-one competition, and longest drive race. The Greenwich Old Timers Athletic Association provides significant and critical financial support to allow local families’ children to participate in athletic programs. Many of the families that they support cannot afford the rising costs of athletic equipment, uniforms and team registrations. The annual charity golf tournament is a major fundraising event that allows them to meet their goals and support youth sports in the community.

The Greenwich Old Timers Athletic Association was founded in 1960 by Joe and Jim Branca to encourage youth activities and sports, unite and continue the fellowship, good sportsmanship, and honor worthy old time athletes and others who were associated with sports in our community. Along with the promotion and support of youth sports programs, the centerpiece of the Branca Brothers’ vision was the college scholarship program. The Old Timers have awarded college scholarships to over 111 worthy young student-athletes from its inception.
