Greenwich United Way Supports Human Services with a Golf Outing

The Greenwich United Way had their Second Annual Golf Tournament at Burning Tree Country Club in Greenwich. This year’s event directly benefited their soon-to-be-launched Human Services Technology Solutions program, which is part of the organization’s three Direct Impact Programs. United Way launched its “dual-philanthropic” option for donors earlier this year after a quiet phase of fundraising that launched in 2016. Youth Impact Programming and Early Childhood Achievement Gap Solutions are the other two collaborative programs categorized under Direct Impact.

This was the first public fundraiser for the HSTS program. “HSTS will allow case workers to more efficiently and effectively help their clients by getting them much needed services faster,” said Greenwich United Way CEO David Rabin. The “all-inclusive” tournament included green fees, a caddy, lunch, a gift, giveaways, mulligans, a putting contest, on-course games and beverages, a silent auction featuring sports memorabilia from Steiner Sports, and dinner with a live auction led by Comedian Jane Condon. This year’s event was chaired by Mario Forlini and Sergio Forlini. Added Rabin: “Our Second Annual Golf Outing at BTCC was a huge success! Golfers enjoyed a perfect day on the course and were treated to a real experience that had them asking about next year already.”
