Horsing Around to Support Endeavor Therapeutic Riding

Live bluegrass, smoky barbecue and live streaming of the Preakness Stakes set a fun and festive tone to the Endeavor Therapeutic Horsemanship’s fourth annual Spring Celebration at the organization’s beautiful Bedford, NY farm. As Endeavor’s largest fundraiser of the year, the event raised $132,000 for its programs, which empower those with special needs by providing the highest quality equine-assisted activities and therapies in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

To showcase Endeavor’s diversity of programs—and herd—guests got to meet and mingle with some of its equine partners: Pelusa, a Yale ex-polo pony who works well with veteran populations; Koko, a Hunter pony who excels in therapeutic riding lessons; Smokey, a quarter horse who works with children receiving physical or speech language therapy; Pearl, an Arabian who works in ground programs with at-risk youth; and Harrison Ford, a Shetland who makes visits to local nursing homes and adult care facilities and helps with assisted learning programs in the Bedford Central Schools. Fun raffles and a silent auction rounded out the evening.
