JDRF Holds Annual Gala

The 2018 JDRF gala held at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich honored the Ogden Family of New Canaan, CT and the Hughes Family of Fairfield, CT.  The gala, chaired by Mairead O’Sullivan of Greenwich, CT was a success due to the generous support from the community in Fairfield and Westchester Counties. Guests enjoyed a chic venue, fabulous cocktail party, dinner, dancing, live auction items, mobile silent auction bidding and Fund a Cure program. The evening raised $800,000 to find better treatments and ultimately cure type 1 diabetes. The JDRF Westchester/Fairfield/Hudson Valley Chapter thanks all supporters for their participation and partnership in the goal to create a world without type 1 diabetes.

JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Their strength lies in their exclusive focus and singular influence on the worldwide effort to end T1D. Their vision is a world without type 1 diabetes. Their mission is to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly. JDRF works every day to change the reality of this disease for millions—and to prevent anyone else from knowing it—by funding research, advocating for government support of research and new therapies, ensuring new therapies come to market and connecting the T1D community. Founded by parents determined to find a cure for their children, JDRF expanded its grassroots fundraising and advocacy efforts to become a powerhouse in the scientific community. JDRF has funded more than $2 billion in research and made significant progress in understanding and fighting the disease. For more information, visit www.jdrf.org.
