The Grand Finale Gala, held at the Hyatt Regency of Greenwich, CT, concluded the Connecticut Westchester Hudson Valley chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s 2019 Man and Woman of the Year campaign. Man and Woman of the Year is an annual fundraising competition in which candidates and their teams compete to raise the most money for LLS, whose mission is to find cures for blood cancer and improve the quality of life for patients and their families. This year’s Man of the Year, having raised 106,693, was Mohegan Lake, NY, resident Chris Berlow, owner of United Martial Arts Center and founder/mastery coach of Empowered Master Personal and Professional Development. The title Woman of the Year was awarded to vice president of USI Insurance Services, Micaela Keane of Rye, NY, for raising $106,693. The winners were among six candidates, who collectively raised $522,000 in honor of Boy of the Year, 14-year-old Charlie Levine of Nyack, NY, and Girl of the Year, 9-year-old Lynn Gulli of Greenwich. Both are blood cancer survivors.
