New Canaan Mounted Troop Annual Gala Draws More Than 200 Guests to Support Horsemanship Programs 

For their largest fundraiser of the year, The New Canaan Mounted Troop hosted a reception and dinner for about 215 guests at Wee Burn Country Club on November 12. Inspired by a Trooping the Colors theme, the dining room was decorated in blue, yellow and red—the colors of equine competition ribbons and regimental colors or flags. The event drew generous attendees who raised a paddle for the cause and bid in live and silent auctions before cutting a rug to the music of Mind the Gap. XL Catlin, L’Armoire, CHUBB and Frenkel & Co. were the evening’s sponsors. Greenwich Orchids provided flowers and Alex Laird of Visualcom designed the ribbon topiaries. The Mounted Troop is celebrating 77 years of building leadership, responsibility and confidence in youth through sound horsemanship and enriching the lives of individuals with special needs through equine assisted activities.
