Walk to End Lupus in Norwalk A Success

lupus walk

Backed by a strong wave of community support, the second annual Walk to End Lupus Now, held in Norwalk, CT, was a success. Supporters walked along the scenic stretch of Calf Pasture Beach to fundraise for necessary research and spread awareness about lupus.

An estimated 1.5 million Americans are living with lupus and an estimated 5 million are living with lupus worldwide. The Lupus Foundation of America is dedicated to those affected by lupus in an effort to improve their lives through research-based, educational, and advocacy programs.

Now in its second year, the Walk raised $70,000—and is expected to reach its $75,000 goal through additional donations. After the official ribbon cutting, the walkers were led through the picturesque Calf Pasture Beach trail. Along with the walk, there were Zumba sessions, plus face painting, and musical entertainment. Both Connecticut State Senator Bob Duff and Mayor of Norwalk, Harry Rilling, were in attendance.
