color-concept-theory-portraitColor is just the beginning for Jody Myers-Fierz, owner and founder of Color Concept Theory in Westport and Bethel, CT. She brings with her years of experience in New York and Connecticut, and a wealth of knowledge about the latest environmentally friendly and energy efficient approaches to design. “My approach is to create spaces unique to each client’s personality and style,” says Myers-Fierz. “I like to push the boundaries, adding life and color to every room.”

What was your inspiration for becoming a designer?
I always loved space planning and had an obsession with color, pattern and texture. I love competing with myself on every project to see how much further I can take a design and bring it to its fullest potential.

Colors you love now?
I love purples. They are so rich and soothing. Purples bring instant tranquility to any space.

What materials do you like to work with most?
I love fabrics! They have texture, bold or subtle patterns and unlimited colors. They’re the foundation of every room design.

lara-michelle-kitchenWhat are your top three design rules?
If you don’t love it, then don’t buy it. I’d rather a client take baby steps when investing in expensive furniture pieces then buy less quality and regret it later. Take a chance when designing a space. You get better results in the end. The risk equals the reward.

If you could design a home anywhere, where would it be?
I have designed on both coasts and in a variety of styles but would jump at the opportunity to design a ranch in Texas.
