Former chef Steve Yopp has always been obsessed with cutting boards, he says. “When I started woodworking as a hobby, I started my focus on cutting boards and have worked my way up to furniture products.” He launched his business, Timbercraft Designs, in 2016 and creates a variety of beautiful pieces, including a Connecticut Cribbage Board ($65) made from locally milled walnut. “The cribbage boards were created because they are a very easy item to personalize as a great gift,” says Yopp. “It’s a group game that’s usually played between friends and having a personalized board that means something to them makes all the difference.”
