Jenny Allen Puts a Personal Touch on Greenwich Real Estate

Jenny Allen seems almost destined to serve the Greenwich real estate community. The nearly lifelong resident moved here at age 8 and graduated from Greenwich Public Schools, married a longtime Greenwich resident and rooted her own family of six in the town she grew up in. There was nothing else Allen wanted to do, so when the youngest of her four children reached school age, she was well-poised to start Jenny Allen Homes and help clients find their dream home. Today, she has built a clientele mainly through word-of-mouth and a reputation for providing clients with a personalized and custom experience buying and selling homes in the community. “This is not just a passing phase,” says Allen. “This is truly my passion.”

Her relationship with clients is vital to her growing business, and it shows in the fact that often her clients become good friends or return to her when they are ready to move again. “That says a lot about the relationships we build,” she adds. “I understand buying a home is such an intimate process.”

Digging Deep

For new buyers, she often begins by getting to know her clients, what they are looking for and why they are choosing to live in Greenwich. “I love diving into why this is such an amazing community to live in. Given the low taxes, this community has wonderful public and private schools and the amenities that come along with it are fantastic. Living and breathing this community for more than 40 years is a testament to why I love what I do and why I am who I am.”

Evolving with Client Needs

While the pandemic greatly shook the real estate market in 2020, Allen evolved and adapted through it all. “It all happened so fast, and it was so unexpected, but, in Greenwich, we didn’t press pause,” she adds.  Her adaptability and willingness to customize each client’s experience has proven key for Allen’s success and growth as a realtor, and what makes her well-positioned to serve luxury clients in Greenwich’s high-end market.

Recently, she worked with a builder and contractor from first shovel to completion on a new construction home on MacKenzie Glen in Greenwich. The five-bedroom colonial on more than one acre of land off North Street was her first foray into working with a contractor from soup to nuts, and Allen says she can’t wait to do it again. “Not a lot of contractors let agents get involved; they just want you to sell, but we had a great time,” says Allen. “We worked with a local interior designer as well. It was a fun collaboration, and we plan to do many more. He is already working on another new construction project in downtown Greenwich.

Allen plans to continue to work with builders and high-end luxury buyers and sellers to grow her business and make her “kids proud,” she says. “Clients see right away who I am and what I bring to the table. They see I am happy at home, I have a husband who is so supportive, and I have so much behind the scenes that makes me the person I am. I’m not just a real estate agent. I understand my clients and I am here to help them.”
