Highlights of living in Larchmont: We are a waterfront community on the Long Island Sound with many opportunities for recreation, boating and swimming at our beaches and parks. Larchmont is a community with a history and tells a great story. Once upon a time, it was a summer community for many from New York City.

The lifestyle in Larchmont: Many people walk and ride bicycles since it’s easy to get around here and people love being outside and being active! There is the Emelin Theater [in nearby Mamaroneck], shops, restaurants, and overall, a casual, friendly feel. It’s a town that some people never leave and other people come back to! There is an ambiance to Larchmont that attracts those who want the character and charm of a small town.

Most common architectural styles: Many of the homes were built in the 1920s and are Colonials or Tudors. Closer to the water, you will find Victorians with front porches that wrap around the house.

Ideal buyer for the area: Someone who wants to live in a community with a friendly atmosphere yet be close to New York City. [We see a lot of] families relocating, but Larchmont is great for retired  people as well, or singles who want to get out of New York and still have easy access to the city.  There is something for every age  in this community.

Favorite spot in town: I have so many it is hard to choose, but if I must name one, it would be Cocoa. It is a wonderful chocolate shop with delicious hot cocoa and yummy chocolates. I am a regular!
