“Greenwich is known as a premier shopping destination and attracts both local and out-of-state shoppers making it an ideal location to introduce many first-timers to The RealReal,” says The RealReal Greenwich’s head of shop, Tori Cornish, of the popular consignment website’s newest brick-and-mortar outpost in Greenwich.
Not only does the location offer opportunities to both consign and shop for high-end luxury items (think: Cartier, Chanel), but it also provides a sustainable shopping alternative. “The RealReal was founded with the goal of extending the life of luxury goods so we’ve had sustainability
at our core from day one,” explains Cornish. “We’ve been a champion of the circular economy for the past decade, and are continuing to expand our commitment to extending the life of luxury, from introducing repair services at all of our stores to launching our new ReCollection program focused on upcycling.” (Fun fact: 827 million liters of water have been saved by consignment on The RealReal.)
If you’re in the market to consign, Cornish says that lux handbags from Hermès, Gucci and Louis Vuitton are always big sellers. “Particularly, styles like the Hermès Birkin, Gucci Marmont Matelassé, and Louis Vuitton Eva Pochette are currently in high demand and have strong resale values making them perfect to sell, especially if they’re collecting dust in your closet,” she says. Rolex watches, too—their best-selling watch brand last year.
