Hair Trends for Spring

Whether the winter did a number on your hair or youโ€™re just looking to change things up, the husband-and-wife team Elie and Danielle Camoro, who opened their new salon, Camoro at the Delamar, at the Delamar Southport hotel, last fall, offer their advice.

โ€œIโ€™ve been doing more bolder cuts, ranging from chin length to past the shoulders,โ€ says Elie, who previously served as creative director of Frederic Fekkai. Curtain bangs are also popular right now. โ€œThey are statement pieces, and when you have the right features for them, they give off a more hip, youthful vibeโ€”who doesnโ€™t want that?โ€

As far as color goes, โ€œI personally think you can go lighter all year,โ€ says Danielle, a protรฉgรฉ of famed colorist Marie Robinson. โ€œHighlights never need to be overdone and can always look polished and put together, no matter what month weโ€™re in. Come spring, I usually like to go over a few of the old highlights that dulled during winter and bring them back to life while also adding a few new brighter pieces.โ€
