Erika Burling, the owner of Knots on Euclid, describes herself as a “lifelong craft person”—and it was this passion she turned to when she was looking for a creative outlet to handle everyday stress. “I remembered making plant hangers as a kid in overnight camp and decided to give macramé a try,” she says.
“I was immediately hooked and haven’t stopped since then.” Today, plant hangers are among her top sellers, as are earrings and purses—all of which are made with recycled cotton fiber. “The colors are what make them so versatile,” says Burling of her macramé purse ($65). “The natural or blush screams beach vibes, bridal showers, and brunch, while the taupe and black provide an understated feel— and yellow is just plain old fun.”
