August 24th marks the first day of the 6-day-long US Open Tournament, with the first return to full capacity since 2019. In the mix of the aces, second services and volleys, the US Open ball people will be there to support this year’s hopefuls. As a part of their ongoing commitment to sustainability, Ralph Lauren partnered with Wilson to collect over 450 lbs of plastic tennis ball cans from last year’s tournament and created a high-quality yarn through a unique manufacturing process (something they plan to repeat by collecting all tennis cans from this year’s event too). This yarn then became part of the fabric that you’ll see on the ball people this year in fun, bold color-blocked styles.
