The Perfect Destination to Seek Adventure

Utv crossing stream

Moab, UT
Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa

There’s plenty to keep active travelers happy here, from horseback riding among red rock mesas and desert terrain to taking part in one of the guided hikes among the stark red and white banded sandstone pinnacles, arches, towers, slot canyons and other unusual geologic features in Arches and Canyonlands national parks. If you’re looking for a little more adrenaline, take a UTV tour directly from the ranch to the river crossings of Onion Creek’s sandstone canyon or go off-roading on a Jeep tour; after all, Moab is arguably considered the Jeep capital of the world. If you’re into rock climbing or canyoneering, get ready to rappel down into Ephedra’s Grotto—a beautiful sight among natural stone bridges, spring-fed streams and petrified sand dunes. Moab is also considered the mountain biking mecca of the Southwest, so this is a good time to take up this two-wheeled activity. There’s also whitewater rafting, helicopter tours, skydiving and more. With dozens of adventure options at Sorrel River Ranch—the challenging part is finding time to do it all.

Up next, JJ’s Mercantile Market is slated to open and will feature cooking classes, with locally sourced produce from the property’s own gardens and local farms found in the freshly made salads, daily baked sweet and savory pastries and breads. This coming year, 2020, will also see the continuation of the Guest Chef Dinner Series, which just debuted at the ranch. This dinner—under the stars—is a great way to experience a communal farm-totable, five-course tasting dinner with some of the area’s top chefs. sorrelriver.com
