Girls’ Night Out Supports CancerCare

Serendipity’s Girls’ Night Out is a socially conscious evening that combines fashion, food and fun, all to support great causes. Held this year on April 21 at The Loading Dock in Stamford, CT, the event gave guests the opportunity to shop, mingle and honor the philanthropists who contribute to the community. An enthusiastic crowd cheered as these charitable models (and kids!) showed off fresh spring looks. The party continued with gourmet cuisine from caterer Abigail Kirsch, refreshing lemon cocktails from Keel Vodka and dance hits performed by the popular band Sweet & Meaty. In between, guests shopped for gorgeous clothing and jewelry, sampled expert beauty services and products and tasted fine wines. These individuals are heroes in the community for their efforts to help vital causes. Meet the men, women and children who made Girls’ Night Out a success.

CancerCare (Norwalk, CT)

Her role: 2015 Fairfield Walk/Run for Hope co-chair

Mission: CancerCare recruits oncology social workers and cancer experts to provide free support services, including counseling, educational workshops and financial assistance, to anyone affected by cancer.

What drew you to this charity? “My husband lost his mother to cancer, and he and his family would have greatly benefited from an organization that supported both the patient and the family, from diagnosis to bereavement. We love that this association is a support system for all. I have been a fund-raiser for the Walk/Run for Hope for years, but co-chairing helped me get behind the scenes and understand how important race day is for celebrating cancer patients and families. It is a day for the community to honor all those affected by cancer, both patients and caretakers. It adds that much more meaning and urgency to help fund CancerCare’s programs, which directly impact our communities.”
