Girls’ Night Out Supports Child Guidance Center

Amy Zabin

Serendipity’s Girls’ Night Out is a socially conscious evening that combines fashion, food and fun, all to support great causes. Held this year on April 21 at The Loading Dock in Stamford, CT, the event gave guests the opportunity to shop, mingle and honor the philanthropists who contribute to the community. An enthusiastic crowd cheered as these charitable models (and kids!) showed off fresh spring looks. The party continued with gourmet cuisine from caterer Abigail Kirsch, refreshing lemon cocktails from Keel Vodka and dance hits performed by the popular band Sweet & Meaty. In between, guests shopped for gorgeous clothing and jewelry, sampled expert beauty services and products and tasted fine wines. These individuals are heroes in the community for their efforts to help vital causes. Meet the men, women and children who made Girls’ Night Out a success.

Her role: Volunteer and former board member

Mission: The Child Guidance Center is comprised of clinical social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists and family  therapists who help address issues that children and teens face, such as depression, anxiety, abuse and neglect.

What drew you to this charity? “They’re the only organization that has a mobile crisis team. If you call 211, a team will come to your home to deal with emergency situations involving children and youth. If a child has been sexually abused, the SART (sexual abuse response team interviews him or her in such an amazingly professional way that the child doesn’t have to be re-interviewed over and over and, therefore, be retraumatized. I joined the board because I found they utilized their board members in the most potent way possible. I continue to stay involved because of the powerful impact they have on youth and their families.”
