The โFood Revolutionโ touted by British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver came to New Canaan on May 14, encouraging children to step outside their culinary comfort zones. Food tastings were spread out at the townโs Pop Up Park, inviting kids to expand their palettes and try some new (and nutritious) things to eat. Courageous eaters were rewarded with a stamp on their โBravery Passportโ for each new dish they sampled, like cereal-covered cauliflower, BBQ beets, truffle olive oil, lobster lollipops, gazpacho and baklava for dessert. There was also music from local band Mind the Gap, childrenโs singer/songwriter Dre Towey and a performance ofย Cinderellaย from the New England Dancers. Chef Plum, of Food Network fame, hosted theย event.
