It was a wonderland of cookie houses in Wilton and Greenwich as The Center for Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling and Education held two Gingerbread Houses and Cocktails for a Cause this month. First, at the Rolling Hills Country Club in Wilton, CT, on December 1, approximately 85 guests joined in the festivities. Then at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich, in Old Greenwich, CT, on December 6, approximately 250 guests attended. Brandy Braunstein Solinsky won Best in Show in Wilton for her candy-themed and snowman topped house and Margie Pinto-Leite won Best in Show in Greenwich for her veggie-themed cottage. Sweet Lisaโs Exquisite Cakes provided the gingerbread houses to decorate. During each event, special guests shared their personal experiences with assault and how the Center made a difference in their lives. More than $65,000 was raised between the two events to support The Center, which serves eight towns in lower Fairfield County, offering free, 24-hour confidential help to men, women and children who have experienced sexual assault.
