The United Way’s Heart of Gold Award Dinner

On May 18, 2017, the United Way’s Heart of Gold Award Dinner took place at the Stamford Marriott. The Heart of Gold Award was established in 1995 to recognize and encourage business leaders to build volunteerism into their strategic business plans. We are committed to celebrating the importance of business leadership in building healthy communities through volunteerism. In addition, the Roberta K. Eichler Heart of Gold Scholarship is awarded at the Heart of Gold Award Dinner. The award is a $5,000 scholarship to support the continuing education of an outstanding local student volunteer.

Our mission is to improve the lives of hard-working, struggling households by mobilizing the resources of local communities to create lasting change. Honorees included John Ciulla, President of Webster Bank, who received the Heart of Gold Award and Ariadna Lopez, High School Senior at Stamford High School, who received the Roberta K. Eichler Scholarship.
