Westchester Land Trust celebrated its 30th anniversary with a fun and entertaining event at the Rockefeller Estate in Pocantico Hills. The event also honored the conservation legacy of David Rockefeller and his contributions to protecting local open space in our area. With nearly $400,000 to benefit land preservation in Westchester and eastern Putnam Counties, the event was a huge success.
“We feel incredibly fortunate and grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate our 30th anniversary, the conservation legacy of David Rockefeller and the protection of land where it matters most, right here at home,” said Lori Ensinger, WLT President.
Michael Quattrone, on behalf of his Grandfather, the late David Rockefeller, accepted the Westchester Land Trust Preservation ANGEL award. And Lizzy Kaplan, a Mamaroneck High School student, spoke about the award-winning research she did at Otter Creek Preserve in Mamaroneck with the help of scientists from Westchester Land Trust. The 350 guests enjoyed entertainment by magician Brian McGovern and local band, The Shaves, who wrote a song specifically about Westchester Land Trust and its commitment to land protection. A strolling dinner, cocktails, and a silent auction rounded out the enjoyable evening.
