On April 29th, 2023, The American Red Cross Metro New York North Chapter held its annual Red & White Ball: A Salute to Service and Valor at the Greenwich Country Club to honor heroes in the community who rise above tremendous obstacles to help others. The event was led by Connie Anne Harris and Lauren E. Walsh, with the support of 39 philanthropists and community leaders. With nearly 500 guests, the sold-out event offered delicious food, music, dancing, and live and silent auctions, featuring exclusive items and experiences. The event was a success – garnering more than $900,000 in contributions.
The evening commenced with the presentation by Greenwich Police Department Honor Guard, followed by the performance of the National Anthem by US Army Sergeant Major MaryKay Messenger of the West Point Band. Stephanie Dunn Ashley, the CEO of the American Red Cross Metro New York North Chapter, and Lisa Cooper, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Red Cross Metro New York North Chapter, shared the organization’s recent work in helping communities and families in need, powered by Red Cross volunteers.
The honorees for the evening were:
General Eric M. Smith who received the Exceptional Service Award in recognition of his lifetime of service to our nation.
Pam Farr who received the 2023 Humanitarian Award in recognition of her long and distinguished history of philanthropic leadership.
Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association (GNYADA) who received the 2023 Corporate Leadership Award for its commitment to volunteerism and its generous financial support for local non-profits.
