Considered the first modern cocktail for its combination of American whiskey, Italian vermouth, and a few dashes of aromatic bitters, its balanced and complex taste is still timeless today. Ingredients
- ice cubes
- ยผ cup (60 ml) rye whiskey
- 1 ๏ฌ oz (30 ml) sweet vermouthย
- 2 dashes of Angostura bittersย
- 1 maraschino cherry
Instructions
- Fill a mixing glass with ice. Add the whiskey, vermouth and bitters and stir well to chill.
- Strain into a chilled coupe glass.ย
- Garnish with the cherry and serve.
