The Power of Purple

September marks World Alzheimer’s Month, and from September 11 through 21, Old Greenwich, CT, will be decked out in purple. “Throughout this week, purple bows will be displayed on trees, purple flowers and pinwheels will be apparent through the town and merchants will be portraying purple to help bring awareness,” says Wendy Day of Assisted Living Locators of Western, CT, a certified senior advisor who is dementia care certified.

Day was inspired by a 2016 Paint the Purple initiative and her personal experiences with her own father and other families “affected by this ugly disease” to partner with the Alzheimer’s Association for this latest initiative.
