2016 Fairfield County Light The Night Kickoff & Summer Mixer

It was night of hope and inspiration at The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light The Night Kickoff & Summer Mixer. The moving community event raised awareness and funds for groundbreaking research and treatment options to eliminate cancer. During the evening, participants carried illuminated lanterns: white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost to blood cancer. Held on June 22nd at the Top of the Game at Chelsea Piers Connecticut, the evening featured LLS 2016 honoree speakers who shared personal and family stories of those battling blood cancer. Participants were also able to dedicate a luminary bag to an individual of their choosing—these mementos were lit up with tea lights and will be displayed after dark at each of the organization’s Light The Night events this year.
