American Gold Cup Draws 11,000 Visitors to North Salem

One of the most prestigious sporting events in the world, the 2016 American Gold Cub at the stunning bucolic grounds of Old Salem Farm in North Salem, NY, presented a full week of world-class show jumping culminating in a weekend of championships, equestrian shopping and entertainment for the whole family. Among the highlights, New York local Georgina Bloomberg had two major wins in the American Gold Cup Qualifier and the Hermès Sellier Cup, and Kent Farrington (USA) riding Gazelle took home the prized $86,000 American Gold Cup, beating out 39 other athletes and their horses. Meanwhile, guests strolled Boutique Row, where more than 30 vendors sold everything from clothing and custom leather goods to cars and fine jewelry. Children enjoyed pony rides, face painting and a magician, and equestrian fans took home autographs from the top 12 finishers.
