Clay Art Center held its Clay-Holiday Annual Sale from November 18th through December 22nd, featuring hundreds of pieces of functional pottery and ceramic sculpture by local and nationally recognized artists. It was an opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind clay art for holiday gift-giving. The ornament wall was extremely popular, featuring hundreds of hand-made ceramic holiday keepsakes. Many of the artists were on hand to meet attendees and give guided tours of their studios. This holiday sale is a time to shop local and give hand-made while discovering the area’s only ceramic center, where sculptors and potters work in a cooperative environment. “This event was the big success it was because of our many enthusiastic volunteers, artists and supporters,” says Executive Director Leigh Taylor Mickelson. Believing strongly that the arts has the ability to touch and enrich lives, Clay Art Center’s mission is to offer a stimulating space for studio practice, exhibition and educational opportunities to better serve the community.
